The Opportunity

Learning-first internship for a Master’s student who is at the final phase or recently graduated from a Master programme in the environmental or sustainability field. This is a good opportunity for whom aiming to achieve real skills in Life Cycle Assessment, Environmental Product Declarations, sustainability reporting, and AI-enabled sustainability workflows. You will be trained, mentored, and given space to practise and develop professionally. Strong performance, shared values, and growing mindset likely lead to a junior role after the internship.

Assignments

  • Life Cycle Assessment: Learn how to define goals and scope, set system boundaries, collect and assess data, and interpret results to understand the full environmental impact of products and processes.
  • Environmental Product Declaration: Gain hands-on experience preparing EPD documentation, from data compilation and impact assessment to formatting and verification-ready reporting aligned with recognised standards.
  • Digitalisation: structure LCA and EPD studies and datasets, creating reusable templates, and scalable models. Learn how to organise and standardise LCA and EPD data from implemented projects, build reusable templates, and design scalable data structures for future automation and consistency.
  • Development of product scenarios and decision-ready insights. Use Cappi’s internal tools to model different product scenarios, compare outcomes, and generate insights that guide sustainability and business decisions.
  • Sustainability related reporting. Understand how to translate technical results into clear, structured narratives that communicate environmental performance and value to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Application of AI: prompt engineering, streamline data analysis, improve model accuracy, and document processes efficiently using effective prompts and automated workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the team on LCA and EPD projects with guided tasks from the seniors
  • Build parameterised models and scenario comparisons with supports from supervisors using Cappi Platform
  • Organise primary and secondary data, ensuring traceability and proper documentation
  • Draft short, evidence-based write-ups for customer deliverables and internal playbooks
  • Explore AI use cases to speed up repetitive tasks and reduce errors
  • Contribute to internal templates and a small library of reusable components

What success looks like after 6 months

  • You are able to prepare a complete data collection inventory, synthesise it, and develop a Life Cycle Assessment model with clearly documented hypotheses.
  • You are able to develop an Environmental Product Declaration that could be accepted by an EPD Programme Operator.
  • You can explain the logic behind an LCA model and present the results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You can produce a one-page executive summary that communicates results to non-technical stakeholders in a concise and structured way.
  • You have documented at least two AI-assisted workflows that save time and improve the quality and consistency of results.
